This and that

We're off again for another almost week long vacation. The blog will be pretty quiet again. I will get back to posting Wildtree Wednesdays once life slows down a bit again. I have a great easy recipe to share.

I don't know what it is but there is something about being up north where life is more secluded that makes you get in touch with God more. I love having my quiet time outside and just soaking in all that He created. Joel and I have a lot to sort through lately with where we are headed in our lives so I am looking forward to soem time of reflection. I am praying I'll come back with all the answers! :-)

We went into the cities and met up with my aunt Deb. We have a great lunch and conversation.

We have been having such a blast with Auntie Leah here. Auntie Danie came and spent a night and a day with us too.

We went fishing and here is Abby's catch I had to get a picture of Kenan with his snuggly. He loves it!

We had a blast on the slip- n- slide. Joel and I and Leah and Danie all were having fun on it.

The first swimming of the season- It was a 90 degree day and after a few hours the freezing cold pool felt like a hot tub

birthday girl & farm life

We just spent a week up north since my sister came home and suprised us. The girls had such a blast. They got to do one of the things they love best about going up north...... ride horse My dad's ranch hands spent quite a bit of time teaching the girls how to ride by themselves.

We went and visited a dear friend who had a baby squirrel. This was the girls first time ever coming so close to one.

Little cousin Tucker gave them rides around the patio. I think maybe hockey is in his future! :-) Good strong legs.

We enjoyed laying out in the sun and doing picnic lunches.

We rolled down the lush green hills and got really dizzy. (This is auntie Leah and Abby rolling here.

Emily fell asleep on our mile walk to my brother and sister in law's place.

I absolutely love this picture and it reminds me soo much of my little Emily.

While on the ranch there is so much to do- the kids and I got to partake in feeding baby cows who had been abandoned by their mama's for one reason or another.

Emily even got to sit on one.

We went to a miniature horse farm down the road who also had baby goats.

For Abby's 5th b.day she wanted horse rides with her cousins so here she is with cousin Emma on a horse for her birthday.

My grandpa brought up his 4-wheeler with little pull behind cars. It was a big hit for the kids.

We had a great time up north and look forward to being up there next week again. Some of our favorite times are when we are up there sorrounded by family and God's creation.

Happy is....

When Auntie Leah comes for a visit--- I am so glad I can share Kenan with her and she can have a part in this new little person in my life. My mom flew in Leah and surprised us on Wed. May 12th. My mom and Leah were the only ones who knew- my dad didn't even know. They arrived at our place first and stayed for a few hours before leaving to surprise the rest of the family. Such an amazing surprise. We are all so thrilled to see her.

I have rearranged my schedule to spend the whole 3 weeks with her. My blog may be a little silent for awhile.

Happy 5th Birthday my love!

I have spent the day feeling thankful.
Thankful that God has given me this beautiful little person to raise and love. Thankful for all the fun things I get to do as I teach and train these little people

Thankful for the love and care they share for one another

Thankful for wonderful friends who are like family to us

Just so very thankful for this big-eyed little girl, who came into my life 5 years ago. I had no idea what God had planned for me back then when I found out I was expecting this little angel but boy am I glad He did!

Thankful that kids will be kids (caught you red-handed Abby)

Thankful we were able to put one more candle on this birthday cake- some parents go through the heartbreak of not being able to do that. I will cherish each new candle, each new year.

Thankful that God gave us minds to use and discover: We did a treasure hunt all around the house. It was fun to watch their little faces process where the next thing could find was.





Thankful we have all our senses working and can just play games of what it is like to have no sight.

And of course, thankful for this beautiful little babe who is just about 4 months old.

Happy Birthday my dear Abby~

I am so thankful that I have been able to enjoy 5 wonderful years as your mommy. You are such a treasure of a kid, I love how smart you are and all the questions, even though I don't always like to answer all of them.

I love how quickly your heart goes out to those who need help and how sincerely you pray to Jesus for people. Your heart is soo good, and I know that isn't anything we could teach and that God placed that in you from the start. You are going to do great things Abby. Just keep your heart tuned in with God's and He will use you immensely.

I love you so much and am so honored that I was chosen to be your mommy!

Wildtree Wednesday

This weeks recipe features our yummy fajitas, guacamole, and spanish rice seasoning.

I made mine into a salad as I am avoiding flour. It was so nummy! The fajita's are super easy. I used 2 cut up chicken breasts and 1/2 lb or stew meat and I used some garlic grapeseed oil with our fajita blend and just simmered to cook. Our fajita seasoning is $9.00 and will serve 4, 9 times

The spanish rice seasoning, again is super easy. 1 cup brown rice, 2 cups water, 1 Tbls grapeseed oil, and 1 Tbls spanish rice seasoning $8.50 serves 4, 6 times

The guacamole is soo good. You use 2 advocado's and 4 tsp. of the mix and refrigerate for a few hours and you have amazing guacamole that is so amazing. You can buy a small jar for 6.00 or a larger jar for 10.00. The products that I used to make the meal.
